My Recent Obsessions.
April 26, 2009
I’ve been obsessed with four albums lately.
1. Digital Ash in a Digital Urn by Bright Eyes. I got this album a while ago from the library, and back then, I got really freaked out about it, how Conor Oberst’s voice sounded, and all that white noise. But I really started loving it, and I don’t know why. My friend got this from her boyfriend for Christmas and they broke up. I’m guessing she wants to get rid of it, because she gave it to me, or because of that whole breakup pain thing. It’s great. I don’t even know what that breakup drama is all about.
2. Bring on the Comets by VHS or Beta. It’s so catchy!
3. Neon Bible by Arcade Fire. I found this album today at Half-Price Bookstore. I was excited. No Cars Go is epic.
4. Fantasy Black Channel by Late of the Pier. It’s so great. It’s this crazy off the wall stuff. I have to say that Samuel Eastgate’s vocals are amazing, although I don’t think he’s good live? I’m not very sure, but that’s my impression. And, embarrassing reference, but his voice is very reminiscent of Panic at the Disco’s Brendon Urie. At any rate, please listen to Bathroom Gurgle. It’s ridiculous.
